Bella Buddha Yoga began in March 2012 with a simple belief: yoga and movement should meet people exactly where they are.

What started as a welcoming yoga and fitness studio has grown and changed over the years, just as I have. Today, Bella Buddha Yoga continues to serve active older adults, people returning to movement, and anyone navigating illness, injury, uncertainty, or change.

You never need to worry that you are not flexible enough, strong enough, experienced enough, or able to “do” the class.

My teaching philosophy is simple:

If you’re feeling it, you’re doing it.

Every posture and exercise can be adapted to meet your body’s needs. The goal is not to perform a perfect pose. The goal is to move with awareness, build strength and confidence, breathe more freely, and remain fully engaged in your life.

How Bella Buddha Yoga Has Evolved

Bella Buddha Yoga now offers several ways to practice:

  • Live online yoga and functional movement classes
  • Prerecorded classes through Patreon
  • Pod Yoga for small groups of friends or family
  • Private sessions
  • Chair yoga teacher training
  • Breathwork, balance, strength, and active-aging programs

Although the format has evolved, the purpose remains the same: to help people feel stronger, steadier, more capable, and more at home in their bodies.

About Brenda

I’m Brenda Yarnold, the founder of Bella Buddha Yoga.

Movement has always meant more to me than exercise. My mother recently showed me a childhood assignment that asked, “How do I make God happy?” My answer was:

“By exercising my body.”

I had forgotten writing those words, but they feel deeply connected to the work I do today. Movement is one way we care for the body, participate in the world, and honor the life and spirit within us.

I believe chair yoga is real yoga, strength belongs at every age, and safety should always matter more than performance. My role is not to force your body into a shape. It is to help you discover what your body can do—and to keep expanding from there.
