Move Better. Breathe Deeper. Live Fully.
WHAT YOGA TEACHES US.
Yoga teaches us about our bodies.
When we practice physical postures and exercises, called asanas, we learn to move with greater ease, freedom, and awareness. These practices help our bodies become stronger, steadier, and more flexible.
Yoga teaches us how to breathe better.
When we breathe deeply and intentionally, a practice called pranayama, we become more aware of how the breath affects the body and mind. Breath can help us feel calmer, more centered, or more energized. The breath is our direct link of communication with our nervous system and body.
Yoga teaches us how to use our energy more effectively.
Yoga teaches us to notice and work with our breath, the life-force energy traditionally called prana. Through movement, breath, and awareness, we can learn to feel our feelings, becoming more relaxed, focused, balanced, or motivated.
Yoga teaches us how to quiet the mind.
When we practice yoga, we learn how to pause and become still. This helps us listen more closely, respond with greater awareness, and make thoughtful decisions.
